About me

My name is Stephen Miller.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor (NCC), and a professional member of the American Counseling Association (ACA) and Chi Sigma Iota. I am also a U.S. Air Force veteran with more than 22-years of active-duty service.

 

I am originally from North Carolina but settled in Texas following my military retirement. I am married and the proud dad of two awesome daughters. We are a Baylor Bears family - Sic 'em!

Our mental and physical states are interconnected. For this reason, I approach counseling from a holistic standpoint, integrating mindfulness into evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT).

 

Together, we will utilize your strengths, along with a variety of therapeutic tools to help you identify roadblocks, overcome challenges, and learn to live life to the fullest.

My approach

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT) are evidence-based therapeutic approaches that focus on identifying and changing unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors. CBT emphasizes the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, helping individuals develop healthier coping strategies. REBT, on the other hand, targets irrational beliefs and aims to replace them with more rational and constructive thinking, ultimately leading to improved emotional well-being and more effective problem-solving. These therapies empower individuals to gain better control over their thoughts and emotions, fostering positive change and personal growth.
